Actually that place gets 2-3 sunny days per year. Not much but it's something.

[...]And 6,300mm of precipitation? Unimaginable. Anyway I'd take cloudy and dry over cloudy and wet any day. I only like rain when it's coming from a torrential downpour or thunderstorm (in which case I stand outside in it going "wooooo" at the top of my voice of course).
I see. The high precipitation does include heavy downpours, but I see that it's "far worse than even Buxton could dream of". A definite nightmare climate for you .

.
If I were to define sunny days as having 10 hours or more sun then Buxton has had 16 such days this year, well below average thanks to the dullest summer on record (locally).

I define a sunny day as being a day when the sun is shining more than (about) 70% of the time. What I was referring to was a day where there is nothing more than a wisp of cloud in the sky. The days that are "partly cloudy" aren't numerous in that climate, so the numbers would still be very low even under the more liberal definitions. None of that has anything to do with day length. Sasquatch Cove is a mid-latitude climate, and days in winter are less than 10 hours long. The figure of "days with 10+ hours of sunshine" would be more on the order of 1-2 days.

It's too complicated for me to work out how many days get more than 70% sun so I just went with the arbitrary 10 hours number. We don't really get completely clear days in months when the daylength is less than about 10 hours anyway so that numbers works OK for me. If I was to define it by 70% or more sun then we get a lot more sunny days. Don't know how many though. Not enough data. Still some of those days are too cold and windy to be "nice" however.

365 good days here in San Jose. That's right- EVERY day of the year, every year.
Temps are never extreme to the point of being uncomfortable- even on those hottest 100 F days, it cools down into the 60s at night so one can go out in the evening and enjoy. Even on those days it rains, it's usually a light rain that you can still walk around with in a windbreaker to keep you try. On the heavier rainy days, it doesn't rain heavily the whole day. Never any dangerous weather at all- no big thunderstorms, let alone tornadoes. (we only hear thunder about once a year on the average). Hail, maybe once a year for 5 minutes and it's always pea size. Coldest temperature of the year is around 30 F in an average year which is always early AM on a clear calm morning which is very comfortable when wearing light layers and it usually warms into the 50s in the afternoon.

The problem here is the weather is too boring

This is a very rough estimate and can vary from year to year, especially June through September. But I guess approximately 73% of the days are satisfactory for me.
Let's face it, 90% of the winter days are lousy in Jersey. It's too frickin cold! In the summer, 70% are good weather days with highs in the mid to upper 80's, sometimes only in the 70's. Some humidity, not alot. The rest can be hot in the 90's to low 100's. Spring and fall have lots of nice weather days, provided it's the normal year. I've seen it get very cold even in May and hot in April.

I would estimate as follows:

Jan-- 3
Feb-- 3
Mar-- 8
Apr-- 16
May-- 25
Jun-- 15
Jul-- 7
Aug-- 9
Sep-- 20
Oct-- 22
Nov-- 12
Dec-- 3

Total: 143 out of 365

39.2% nice days

Is your town better or worse? I would like to see this as a weather statistic... Number of Nice Days per Year.
That's about right for Philly.
