After some debate, I decided on Palm Springs, but I'd only live there for half the year . It looks like a great place to have a winter home. I actually know a couple that has a second home there and goes there over the winter. It's beautiful then, and it lets them avoid the cold dreary winters in their other residence.
Well, Palm Springs is too hot and dry much of the year, and gets pretty cold at night for a few months too, but at least it is warm and sunny. I choose Palm Springs.
Palm Springs without a doubt. Eureka is beautiful for a few days, then it all begins to feel like a green, wet, cold, damp prison. At least in PS your eye can travel - there is dramatic vertical relief, the Tram takes you to the top of the San Jacinto Mountains (or you can drive 45 minutes to Idyllwild) to cool off... from Eureka it is a loooong and winding road to get out of that emerald fog.
Palm Springs for sure... winters are nice and during the summer, I'd just be nocturnal
