I will have a photo comparison of last year vs this year.

Last year things were blooming in March and I was mowing the lawn.

This year its April 4th and trees arent blooming, not even the Forsynthias and grass still brownish. So looking like a mid-end of April bloom year.

Typically things green up at the beginning of April here.

We see our first blooms around the end of March usually, mostly green by April 15-18, and full bloom by about late April or early May. The green often remains until early October.

Mid-late April, earlier in some years. In some cold springs trees won't have leaves until May.

Trees have either blossomed, or are blossoming now. I'll get some photos tomorrow.

The only trees left to blossom, are the Jacarandas, and some of the more spectacular Eucalyptus which don't blossom here until October. There are also NZ natives like Pohutakawa and Rata, which don't flower until mid summer- entire hillsides scarlet red.

First leaves appear in mid-May and everything looks green by late May or early June.

Trees are usually barren here until about early/mid April, by late April most of them are green, but in cold years this process can also last until early May.
