My choice is Stockholm. Winnipeg is too cold in winter, while Stockholm's winters have near ideal temperatures. Plus Stockholm has more precipitation and less hot summers.

I would go with Stockholm as well, granted it really has no warm months, but Winnipeg is horrfic; 5 months of the year have mean temps under 25 F/-4 ...and 3 months the mean temps are less than 10 F!

Tough one. I certainly like the warmer summers and sunshine hours in Winnipeg, but 5 months with highs below freezing is too much. Seven months that has recorded 30C temps is truly impressing.

So I have to go with Stockholm. Not a great climate, but better.

Winnipeg is too hot in summer and too dry.
Stockholm for me.

Winnipeg wins for superior summers. Stockholm doesn't have consistent snow cover in winter anyway so that would be annoying.

Most winters it has. Pretty much guaranteed from January to early March. This season it had a continuous snow cover from Nov 29 to April 8.

nah, that isnt true. From my experience, living in sweden, you have to pass the -5 or -6C isotherm (around 60N) to get any type of guaranteed snow cover in winter.

Winnipeg. Although summers are too warm, guaranteed snow cover decides it for me. Snow cover is more important than a comfortable summer in my opinion.

So 59.2N isn't enough? The last four years Stockholm has had a pretty consistent snow cover from December to March. Even from mid November. Even a mean of -2.5C is enough to have a snowpack for months.
