I like my winters cold and long so the winters could be a bit longer, ill give it a C.

I would also rate Chicago a C. Our winters are ok, could be a little more continental... But our summers aren't warm enough.

I'm going to store this data here so I know where to find the decadal average highs again


average highs at MDW in 10 year periods

1980-1989




1990-1999




and 2000-2009




Summers were hotter in the 1980's and winters were were colder....


Though the first 4 years of this decade are showing shades of the 1980's with winters colder and summers (not including this one) warmer

Seems the opposite of us.. winters were colder, and summers were also colder for here!

I wonder if that has a lot to do with the Atlantic Oscillation which has been in it's warm phase for many years now.

Perhaps, although I think you had a brilliant summer in 2012 which was average/poor here, and you also had a freezing cold winter whilst our last winter was one of the mildest on record for here, seems that pattern doesn't always hold
