I was just wondering how people are handling the recent time change? As far as I know everywhere in the country the sun goes down by 6pm now. If not before 5 in some areas. Do you even get home before it gets dark now?
I'm dealing with it fine but I'm still in school and not working a 9-5. It's easier to get up in the morning. I went to work at 7am on Saturday and it was still pitch black.
I hate standard time....it's gets light too early and dark too early. I won't leave work for another 40 minutes and it's already getting dark. I think standard time is for morning people and daylight saving time is for night owls.
Oh, I'm ready to go back to Daylight Savings Time. Wonder why we never have a vote on it. I remember when I was too young to vote, they had it in the election and at that time most of the people didn't want it. Somehow it still passed though. I'd definitely vote for it to be year-round now.
I'm still at work and will be here for several more hours. It's been dark since about 6:30 already. That makes for a LONG night.
I am dealing with it okay but I really dread this week...I am a Day Care Provider and the problem I have with the time change is that kids relate darkness to bedtime and they think that Mom or Dad have forgotten them. No matter how many times I explain that it just means that the "winter time" is coming but they don't buy it.
We usually get out the flashlight and play shadow games till pick-up time.
I don't mind it at all the sun is usually setting here around 430 ish so its pitch black by 5 easy. I moved up from Fla where its still getting light till 7 ish so I felt funny the first couple times but now it just normal
I find myself falling asleep at 8:00pm now and waking up at 3:00am. Once my friggin' head gets it all worked out I'll be fine--but until then this is miserable. I do not much care for getting up when the moon is still out!!

I am glad I am not the only one. My husband keeps looking at me like I am nuts but for the last three nights I have been asleep at 8pm too. I actually kinda like the time change because I don't enjoy getting up in the morning to get the kids ready for school when it is still dark outside. I seem to be more energized at 7am when the sun is out then when it is still dark out.
I would much rather wake up with light than darkness. So don't mind too much getting home by dark. That way, you know it is time to wind down, sit in front of the fire, go to bed early. Start it all over again.....
