Rather dry here too, with a dew point of 59°F at 7 am. The actual temp rarely meets the dew point though, with balmy 77°F low atm.

Cooling to dewpoint on a dry clear day means valley fog. Only patchy along the hills but pretty

I love Valley fog.

" Valley fog is most common on a clear, calm night during the late night and early morning hours. Rivers and streams that flow in the base of valleys can also enhance the fog potential because of the relatively warm water of these bodies of water. If the air temperature around a river or stream cools down to or below the temperature of the water, an instance source of condensation and water vapor becomes available for the production of fog. Visibility as a result of valley fog can drop from unrestricted across higher terrain down to near zero miles in just a few hundred feet! Valley fog can also make for some picturesque scenery during the morning hours as the sun is rising"

Another absolutely incredible day.

Dewpoints in the 40s & low 50s out there! While temps are about normal, the DPs are 10-15 below North of Virginia, south of Maine

Washington DC 51!!
Philly 47!
NYC (LGA) 43!!
Islip 49!!

Holy smokes!

I knew it. I need to do one either firther back or for NYC which may of had more impressive 50s as the max.

This quick chart shows the max dew points for the day at Bridgeport, CT. What we just went through was not a common thing for past mid July.

First notice the past 3 days.. We been staying 60F or lower.

Next notice the last time we did that past mid July was in 2007 where the max was 53F and 54F on the 20th/21st.. All other years had at least max of above 65 even into the 70s a lot. (normal is mid-upper 60s)

We had 3 days IN A ROW 60 or lower and most of the day was actually in the 50s. These are the peaks.

impressive and I can honestly say it was amazing and so tolerable.

You got me curious, so I made one for here.

It looks like 50s are more common here. 2011 was so impressive.
