Here I present a four way climate battle, which you can compare three modified versions of my hometown climate with the original one

Original
A humid subtropical climate, bordering on a tropical climate. There is a strong monsoon bringing lots of rain, and it is prone to tropical cyclones.

Equatorial
The heat lover's paradise. On sunny days the days are about 28c whereas the nights are about 23c. On rainy days the climate is much cooler, about 22c by day and 17c by night

Oceanic
A warmer and MUCH wetter version of Seattle. There is no real heat with a 26.1 C (79 F) record high, and winters are quite mild with lots of cold rain. Snowfall is low but falls every year, at 21.46 inches.

Continental
The most interesting one. Although it is classified as subtropical by Koppen, there are only 7 months above 10C and the winter have copius amounts of snow. Kinda like NYC but much wetter, and milder records.

Tough choice between oceanic and continental, but since the snow won't stay on the ground for long in the continental one anyway, I wil go with the oceanic one for the cooler summers (especially the avg lows in the continental one would be very annoying during summer).

Knowing you your continental climate will probably have winter lows of -20 or colder. I'll take Hong Kong - superb climate.

Funny how you don't take the tropical one as you love heat. The real HK can get cold snaps from further north, where the temps are colder.

I don't love endless heat actually. I prefer a subtropical climate with mild/borderline warm winters and warm to hot, humid summers. Tropical climates are boring with the lack of seasonal variation.

I prefer the original, although the sunshine hours are a bit too low for my liking.
