We're finally *starting* to get slammed here. First heavy sleet, now heavy snow. The landscape outside has turned white fast.

28 F/-2 C with snow here at 10:30AM

Several inches on the ground, but I haven't gone outside to measure it. Decent snowfall! I have to go to work at 2:30, so hopefully the roads will be okay at that point.

I've been warning about this pattern since beginning of January when I said we were re-loading and going to enter it again after the 19th.

One thing I will add, I think the SouthEast is done for Wintry precip. The set up I'm seeing does not favor that area anymore and time is running out. Anyone south of Virginia/NC border pretty much except higher elevations of course..

So I might be wrong about that. I said the south would see wintry precip 1 more time this month. Not sure that will happen. Still early. Maybe Texas and Oklahoma but not SouthEast

But some spots in Northeast could be in the Top 10 snowiest Februarys on record. We'll see.

GFS12z just out... 1-2-3 Punch and it doesn't end there.

Big contrast between city and suburban lows this morning. While O'Hare bottomed out at 6-below, inland minimums included 21-below Rochelle, 20-below Sugar Grove, 16-below at Joliet and 15-below at Kankakee. By contrast, Midway dipped to just 2-above.

We didn't get one iota of sunshine they predicted, it's been cloudy all day. Have fun getting hammered, all. Tuesday night is the next one for us supposedly, but I don't see where it's coming from??

I am POSITIVELY starting to hate snow. This is my bye bye blizzard. Had enough shoveling for 1 year.

The snow has mostly stopped here. We had heavy snow when it first started up again, but then light snow for the rest of the afternoon. I just measured about 2.5 inches (6 cm) of snow accumulation.

Not me. Quite honestly, the more snow we get, the more I want. It's like an addiction...
