Although the tropics are defined as the space between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, tropical climates can be observed outside of these boundaries as well. (Tropical being defined as the coldest month having a daily mean of no less than 18°C)

My guess is that the furthest north that this climate can be observed is the Midway Atoll in the Pacific Ocean (north of the 28th parallel north). The mean temperature in January is 19°C.

Is there anywhere around this far north (or south) of the equator that also observes a tropical climate? How about even further?

Bermuda at 32N misses it by 0.3C in February, but I don't think there's any land just south of it, so I think it has to be the Midway Atoll

There have to be some tropical places further north. Or at least more significant places a bit further south. I think it would be to much of a co-incidence for me to stumble upon the northernmost tropical place accidentally.

Probably Bermuda. Somewhere on the island has to be that 0.3C warmer than the official station.

What about south of the equator? Is there anywhere south of the 28th parallel south that has a tropical climate? What about places that are further south of the Midway Atoll, but are more significant?

Easter Island techincally qualifies though it's rather mild for a tropical climate.

I wonder if somewhere in the Ogasawara Islands qualifies.

Bermuda. 0.3C is not enough of a difference to count it out. Somewhere is 0.3C warmer in February on that island. Plus it's 17.7 C for the February average, that rounds to 18.

I bet Bermuda will become an official tropical climate eventually. Does anyone know what averages they use? If it's 71-00, it might even be tropical now.
