40-43F is quite reasonable for the coast at that latitude, but 30F is nuts! Even for inland!

Yeah it is!!! Some inland spots here....the more uninhabited areas in the Everglades have gotten as low as 18F before!!! The record low for Florida is -2F.......which is way warm compared to our neighbor states (Alabama -27F, Georgia -17F) but still waaaaaay colder than people imagine.
