I can't believe the amount of palm trees I've seen in this video especially at 1 minute in, as according to climate sources I've seen the January high for this town is 13°C (55.4°F) and the January low is 6°C (42.8°F). I can't picture the southern US having this many palms at the 9.5°C (49.1°F) isotherm. I looked at various sources and non of them have the January temperature being any warmer if anything a few had it being cooler. Here's a few I looked at.
I suppose the record low likely not being very low impacts this. I don't know what it is here but in nearby Izmir with the climate nearly the same it's -6.4°C (20.5°F). That would make the Hardiness zone 9A.
This gives me great hope for my dream climate having a decent amount of palm trees as it's nearly the same temperature as Cesme both in the summer and the winter. Off course there's probably a few people on here in which this climate would not be subtropical.
That's nothing special. Croatian Mediterranean cities (and anywhere else in the northern Mediterranean) have January highs only slightly above 10c and lows at 5-6c , and they have a lot of palms.
I think the main difference is that the Mediterranean doesn't get extreme temperatures (only a few frosts a year on the Croatian coast), unlike the USA.

For me it's special when I live in the land of snow and cold, Canada.
It shows how unlucky the USA is even the really southern parts with winter cold waves. And why it's so important for my dream climate to have a lack of really low record lows.
What I noticed was the lack of variety of palms, which I'm guessing is due to the lower rainfall.
Ya that's probably likely which is why I prefer more rainfall for subtropical climates. But it still looks really nice as I'm unfamiliar with the different types of palm trees.

Yes I totally agree. Maybe you would like my dream climate as it has characteristics of both Meditterranean and humid subtropical climates. In the winter it recieves the bulk of the rainfall but in the summer it's quite steamy and tropical like, and there's frequent convectional showers and thundershowers. The driest month has 87mm.
