Disappointing for a cold and snowy christmas lover.

But it wasn't much better in 2011 and 2012 than this.

Christmas Eve will be very wet and stormy in southern parts of Norway, almost as horrible weather as is expected for the British Isles, the Low Countries and coastal France due to that huge low pressure system situated near Ireland and Scotland on Christmas Eve.

In Trondheim (Central Norway) the forecast is windy and mild, but little or no precipitation. With winds from S, Trondheim is in the rain shadow of the Dovre mountain range.

Christmas Eve:
Trondheim: Strong breeze from SE and up to 8C. Little or no precipitation.
25.12: High 6C, low 4C, southerly breeze, partly cloudy, no precipitation.
Hourly forecast for Trondheim (Sør-Trøndelag)

Norway on Christmas Eve:
Slik blir været julaften - VG Nett om Vær og uvær

Tomorrow might be the warmest Christmas Eve ever for parts of the country.
The warmest ever in Oslo was 6.2C in 1936, and 7C is expeced now.
In Bergen, the warmest was 8.8C in 2006 and 8 is expected now (max could go higher).

In Trondheim, the warmest was 8.8C in 1990 and 8C is expected.
Juleværet gjennom årenes løp

If the wind direction is right, fohn effect could give temperatures above 15C in some fjord areas. The all time high for December is 18.3C recorded 1998 at Sunndalsøra.

It won't be warmer than Southern UK.

Still no sign of any prolonged cold here.

Looks like we might hit 70 F on Christmas. Forecast is 69/43 on Christmas Day (tie with the record high) and 65/42 on New Year's Day. I'm really surprised that we haven't yet had a 70 degree Christmas here in the San Jose area given that 70 + temps occur a regularly a few times each December.
