17.1C in Ã…ndalsnes on the 12th. This is the highest December temperature the last 13 years. The coldest recording was -
39.2C in Kautokeino on the 9th.
December was the second wettest on record for the country as a whole, with 180% of normal precipitation. The southern part of the country, and part of the northern Norway, got record amounts of precipitation. The largest amount was recorded at Haukeland - Storevatn (near Bergen) with 778.1 mm. The driest station was Cuoavdathmohkki (near Karasjok) with 29.3 mm. 68 stations set new December records for precipitaton.

In Trondheim, December was 4.5C above the 1961-90 average. This was the second warmest December on record (2006 was 2C warmer). Trondheim was for much of the month in the rain shadow north of the Dovre mountains and precipitation in December was average with 84 mm.

Warmest temperature was 33.4C in Byglandsfjord (valley in the south), and coldest was Karasjok with -41.3C. Relative warmest was the far north, with up to 2 - 3C warmer than average in Finnmark.
Precipitation was 110% of average, the 20th wettest year. Wettest station was Haukeland - Storevatn with 3673 mm (no normal as yet). Driest was Skjåk II with 321 mm (126% of average).

In the Norwegian Arctic, 2013 was 3.1C warmer than the 1961-90 average at Svalbard Airport/ Longyearbyen. The year average was -3.5C, while the 1961-90 average is -6.6C. There are now 37 consecutive months with above average temperatures recorded at Svalbard Airport.
