It's interesting. TWC is pretty decent for major airports. I often post TWC's 15 day forecast for MDW and my town which is 40 miles south. For some reason it's always a bit off for my town but pretty close for MDW

Anyway, my optimism for August has faded away. Highest temp looks to be around 27C on Tuesday but the weekend is looking crap and after Wednesday it looks crap, so I guess August will be crap this year.

Hard to believe how different current forecast is from what it was just two days ago.

I kind of feel bad for B87, because I know how much he wants hot weather.

Here is what it showed yesterday

and what it had for London 2 days ago

Then tell me how weather online is accurate for long range forecasts? The weather channel never showed such high temperatures for London even 5 days ago.

That doesn't mean jack sh*t and you know it. What it showed 5 days ago has no bearing whatsoever on its overall accuracy.

It's like me saying that they are the most useless weather forecasters in the world because on 1 July last year they only started showing temps of 30C+ on the day itself, whereas WeatherOnline had those temps before.

What about the Met Office? I use the BOM and this site: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia extended 2 weeks weather forecast I find it pretty accurate for Sydney. They've also got other interesting stuff like sun rise and set times, graphs and all that, a good time zone map.

indeed. -1.1C in hagshult this night

google translate.

Significantly frigid air has pulled down over Sweden. On Thursday there were violent hailstorms in Småland with traffic problems. It was followed by a clear and unseasonably chilly night.
In Hagshult in Småland temperature dropped to -1.1 ° night of Friday, August 12. It is the first time since 2007 as a station in Götaland have reported night frost in the month of August.
in 2007 a low temperature of -2.3 ° was reported in the Horn in Östergötland. But it was the month's last day on 31 August.
Night frosts first half of August
If we choose to look at occurences of night frosts during the first half of August as we go further back in time. For Hagshults part, we go to 14 August 1983 in order to find a chillier night during the first half of August. Then it was -2.0 ° there.
On 9 August 1995, it was -0.4 ° in Hagshult.
Frost in the air and on the ground
SMHI's statistics are based on measurements of air temperature at about two meters above the ground. There may be times when there is frost in the ground, but above freezing in the air.
