this morning on Mt. Washington:

Undercast conditions have been prevalent around Mount Washington this morning, as low-level moisture lingers underneath a strong temperature inversion. We're expecting that inversion to break, though, which will most likely land the higher summits back in the fog periodically through the morning and afternoon.

Back in Kentucky. Sad to say goodbye to family but for once, I actually don't mind coming home from Florida at all from a weather standpoint. Such a weird and disappointing week by their standards and at the same time, KY has been having easily the best weather of the summer. Lots of lightning when I arrived last night, today is a high of 89F with dewpoints in the 70s and thunderstorms expected, so I get to keep the good humidity of Florida without the extreme heat and uncharacteristic lack of tropical moisture. When I went to Daytona last summer, there were more hours of cloud cover before noon on the first day than all of this trip combined, I am not exaggerating that at all.

Couldn't ask for better late August weather in Lexington.

By Monday evening heat indecies may reach 108F/42C in the western suburbs away from lake cooling breezes
