Oct 11: 80º

This is based on Weather Underground history for the international airport, it appears Nowdata uses a cooler station (maybe the executive airport FXE) so I can't say if it is a record or not.
Yeah, there are two NWS stations in Fort Lauderdale, FLL and one inland. It's not on the main list of stations. You have to open up the map and click show more stations. For some reason, NOWData isn't working for me right now.

This is the default station between 95 and turnpike. (before clicking show more stations)

I zoomed in and the location of the pin is here...the water treatment plant.

So for Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood, the most consecutive 80F+ lows in October was 4 in 2007. And now, 4 counting last night. The current forecast for tonight is 79, so if it stays one degree warmer it's a new record.

It's amazing how much warmer their lows are than here. Saturday morning the low was 80F there, but it was 68F here. Crazy.

It has to be affected by urbanization.

Sitting outside in 72F with a dewpoint of 62F watching heat lightning. This is October heaven as far as Kentucky goes.

Quote:
...Strong thunderstorm with dangerous lightning...moderate rain...
half inch hail...and 35 mph winds...

Occasional lightning...moderate rain reducing visibilities...half
inch hail...and gusty winds of around 35 to 40 mph...are expected
with this storm.

* This storm will also impact...
Lexington...

Well temperatures are still around 18C-20C, but the Autumn rains have arrived. The past week has been very wet.. a sure sign that it is October/November time.

The current forecast in a nutshell explains my hatred for this time of year coming up.. temperatures are actually alright, this weekend Saturday will be 22C with a low of 17C, but there will be an average of 2 hours of sunshine a day for the next week

So it happens that way there too. It annoys me. The sign of autumn should be rain getting LESS frequent. I just don't see the appeal of cold rain.

For sure! Statistically October and November in this part of the UK is actually not much wetter than the rest of the year, about 20mm more than most of the other months, but it is definitely noticeably wetter at this time of year.

In summer we can go weeks without rain and then get our monthly quota from a storm or downpour.. by this time of year we still get storms such as yesterday, but the downpours tend to be longer and more intense

Here, September and October are usually the sunniest months.
