For Groningen 27 days above 25C and 2 days above 30C.

Our averages are 22/4. So more 25C days this year than usual but less 30 C days.

Try Arcata, California

Anyone know what palms those are? High of around 60°F mid June with a strong wind off the Pacific. Hippie college town. Before the fog burned off:

Got 2 days 77°F and above so far this year

Yes a maximum of 30°C/ 86°F and above is considered a hot day according to the definition of the DWD.

Also a maximum of 25°C/ 77°F and above is considered a summer day.

When using these terms i always refer to the definitions of the DWD.
I would even set the limits for hot and summer day a little lower, to maybe 23°C/ 73°F and 28°C/83°F respectively because to me such a day feels hot to me and they are compared to the warmest regions of Germany rather a rare occurence.

Vice versa in places with a hot summer, a hot day being called so when the mercury hits 32°C/ 90°F and above makes probably more sense.

All of them.

As a matter of fact, our nights don't get as cool as 77 in the summer. Daily lows 79.

In Saskatoon, the number of >25C days in 2014:

June: 3
July: 15
August: 15

Number of >30C days in 2014:
June: 0
July: 0
August: 2

(We also had a 30+-degree day in May, which was the hottest day of the year so far and likely will end up being the hottest day of 2014).

June was very cool. July and August were near normal. July also featured minimal deviations from the mean, which I like.
