It's still February but Spring is Sprouting. My Tulips are emerging. Last year we were buried under 1-2 feet of snow until mid-end of March!

Was at falls lake today. Saw a very beautiful long leaf pine forest. The water at the dam was thundering. Will post pics later today

Green starting to appear on the sawtooth oak in my backyard. It seems like about 2 weeks early.

Confused tree. Lol. These generally lose their leaves during the first extended cool period of fall but with record warmth were green until Mid-January. They seemed confused last month with "cool" temps and increasing sun hours and intensity. Currently some are bare, a few are a kind of dead green, a few have new buds, and a few have fall colors.

Local hike by the River

Perfect morning! You all know I despise rain but I have no problem whatsoever when it falls at night. Things cleared out right after sunrise. Perfect. Windy day now with the Arctic High moving in.

Majority without even buds yet., Definitely no blooms. (some trees do have buds)

So nice to be near the water and hear it move and splash. Finally been looking normal past couple months.

Undergrowth? Nah, just Ivy which stays green all year round. Some homes have it in their yards.
Just wait another 2 months then you'll see the real greens

I forgot what these were. I believe Daffodils? Starting

Ahhhhh, the sound of the mini waterfall. Can't get tired of that. A little color effect on the water above it.
