Also it seems that summertime convection over the easternmost Pyrenees (Albères) often blocks the sun in the afternoon outside winter in Perpignan. Makes sense as sunshine is similar to Marseille in winter, but the difference increases as one heads towards the heart of the warm season.
As for me, Toulouse. I dislike the mediterranean rainfall pattern. A humid subtropical climate, how cool is that? Plus, as any humid subtropical climate, it has colder winters and more pronounced cold snaps. Though less potential for heavy snow compared to Marseille and Perpignan.
