Places like Quito or Bogota are slightly on the cool side of subtropical highland imo, but still very equable.
Would prefer temps in the low to mid-20's (70-75F) with cool nights as a preference.
The temperatures would be perfect for me . . . but I also need more sunshine . . . so I think I'd pick somewhere with similar temperatures but more sun.
If it's really only sunny there about 30% of the time that would just be WAY too low; I could probably live with it were it "only" sunny about 60% of the time given those temperatures.
Now this would be much more my speed . . . I wonder if Pismo is as expensive as much of California?

Here's a California climate that has average highs between 65-70 all year round but they have more sunshine and more variation with heat waves. It has that pesky marine layer that can keep things overcast and in the low 60s all day in July but it can get up into the 90s in December. Pismo Beach, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
No, I prefer temps from 75 to 85 degrees F with lots of sunshine. When it gets below 70 degrees I actually feel chilly. Idk why, but I just don't have a high tolerance for cold and/or gray. It negatively impacts my health issues and quality of life.
No. I live in the American Midwest and prefer the variability of the northern Plains....from -30s (F) in the winter to 90 in the summer. Blizzards to tornadoes.
Boring. So mundane. Leaves don't change, snow don't fall, never warm enough to swim. No thanks. 65-70 IS comfortable, but it's overkill if it's every day. I actually LIKE change!
I'd go nuts in this climate, I need change. It's considered pleasant, but to me it's almost oppressive how similar each day would be for the entire year.
Quito's climate is boring. That's 12 months of a much sunnier than average Glasgow summer, but without the long hours of daylight that we enjoy and with much longer dry periods.
