Its not a freak month. We had cold like that in 1963, 1947 etc.

How can it not be a freak month if it is the coldest December in recorded history?

That in it's self suggests it was a freak month... I mean, 1963 was 51 years ago! So long ago that the last time we had such cold was before T-Rex ever excited... (The 70s rock band of cause! )

Yeah but its not impossible to occur again. Anyway it just another perspective on winter and made me realise that 5c is not cold at all.

It was the coldest December EVER recorded in the UK & Northern Ireland's lowest EVER temperature was recorded that month
