Coast here hasn't hit 60°F yet. Normal 1st hit is March 8th! It's April 7th now. 1 month late. WOW!

Only 7 other years in last 66 yrs failed to hit 60 to April 6th.

If they go to April 15th only 2 other years failed to hit 60

There's a big difference between the forecats for NWS and TWC, NWS shows highs 83-86 F for the next 7 days while TWC shows 87-91 F for the next 10 days.....maybe they use different models? I do think NWS is too conservative down here when it comes to highs....just yesterday they predicted 82 F and it ended up being 88 F. I think they exaggerate the effect of the "sea breeze" down here.

Forecasts generally are a +/- 5F (educated) guess, even for the next 24 hours. Some days the cloud cover doesn't clear as expected so temps stay down, or a cold front doesn't move as fast as the model says, or doesn't sag into an area they thought it would.

I wish there was a magic computer that could tell me how much rain between now and Saturday, but all there are are guesses. One of my weather apps says 0.5 inches of rain between now and then. The NWS says 2".

One example I use too often; the NWA predicted 5" of rain during evening into overnight. It never came, not even a trace. 5" of rain is a lot.

Islip hasn't hit 60 yet either. Wow. 12 times is the normal in April, still plenty of time! Cold Waters are hurting BDR and ISP. Nantucket hasn't either. Groton, CT (southeast end) no 60F.

Here's the max temp update for the year so far.

Man, NJ experienced 70s, I haven't even been in the 60s for more than 3 hours yet. LOL

Yeah Louisville's about 500 ft lower. Of course there's a smaller difference when we're talking about neighboring towns.

Lot of activity setting up right now. Even a tornado warning in southern Indiana.
