Hartford, Albany, Syracuse & Rochester had the warmest Average Max temp on record for the May 1-12 period. 80°+ Max average beginning of May??
Only 2 other years were warmer in NYC with their max.
Average max here so far is only 80.0. So we've averaged a colder start to May (during the day, at least) than Hartford, Albany, and Syracuse. That's unusual. Also, the hottest here so far is only 87, while it's hit 90 in Syracuse!
We seem to average warmer nights, though. Hartford and Syracuse have had average lows around 52, but our average low for May so far is 57.7.
All that being said, we've only been slightly above average so far.
The suspense is on. I'm going to say 41° is your low. Clouds or wind wont clear out fast enough.
Maybe we'll get a better idea late evening? NWS upped the forecast from 35°F to 36°F. Small change, but even a degree can have a big impact on frost likelihood. Weather underground is forecasting mostly cloudy Friday to Sunday, NWS cloudy only on Saturday.

yea its weird the everywhere has been hotter than nc lol. but these place will cool down versus us we will stay in the 80s which is normal for this time of year.

Very interesting. Thanks. Every time I looked at the map it seemed odd to keep seeing those 80s and local 90s so far north that early.

Euro weekly. Looks like average and above average temps here until early June. Mainly above average for the East Coast. Cooler and wetter for the south and southwest. This could be the pattern for the summer as a whole.
It looks like Texas may have a repeat of 2007 for early Summer. Meanwhile for the Mid Atlantic.. not ready for the humidity.
