Back to Lyon since yesterday.

I've had two days of max around 6/8c and mins around 0c, plain sunshine and blue skies and RH of about 50/60% in the afternoon. Now that's what I call a nice winter weather.

When will you grace me with the same kind of weather, dear Bologna ?

You left Bologna just in time. Today in Bologna there were 1°C/3°C all day with persistent fog and high humidity. Very cold and boring weather at the same time, thanks to a useless anticyclone.
It was much much better and milder last week with the atlantic fronts. And (useless) forecasts keep saying sunshine with 10-12°C, they don't know very well the climate of the Po Valley apparently.

Well it felt more like being in the rain capital Bergen the past five-six days than our usually drizzly Bremerhaven. 13.8 mm of rain yesterday, tomorrow hopefully less than that, monthly rainfall stands at 131 mm already so twice of our usual December rainfall. 80 mm fell in the past six days alone.

Also Christmas eve starts with rain here..

last week in Bologna was pretty fine indeed. I feel the climate is difficult to forecast depending on the presence / absence of fog. I live on the outskirts and I have noticed that crossing the tangenziale it already feels different, the inner city is generally sunnier / less foggy. My gf works north of Bologna, in the middle of the valley and often tells me that many days in winter are just a wall of fog with a 10 meter visibility.

Tomorrow I'm heading south to see some family, should not be a white christmas there:

Feels like Pekanbaru/Jakarta. I was walking outside at 8am, (around 23-24c) and with the traffic and hazy strong sun it feels very warm bordering hot like Jakarta.

79 F here. I'm just curious - which station are you posting data from? Downtown L.A. (USC)?
