Interstingly, no Emhi´s official station got such recording in Tallinn´s surroundings and -20.9 was night´s minimum in Tallinn. You obviously live in a valley with slight temperature inversion.
Anyway, a real cold weather fetishist should be jealous to me as south-Estonia is colder in wintertime. January´s daily mean so far has been here -17.3c (the monthly average is -4.6c),
in Tallinn -13.8c (average is -3.3c). We have had conditions only slightly milder than Ulan-Ude.
At 16:00 in my nearest station there was -13.5c, light snow -in the station. No snow and mostly clear in here now. As for temperatures I refer to my nearest station, maybe in the future I will start to refere to my car thermometer-: D
