Yes, the pattern is very similar to the Winter of 1982. In Chicago through Wisconsin up to Greenbay the few weeks leading to Christmas saw temperatures up to 64° F or roughly 15C. It would not be surprising to see similar conditions this year. Though, it was just days later temperatures hit into the high Teens or roughly -10C at night, with high winds creating immediate lake ice which encased the West coast of Michigan in a near Blizzard condition. The balance of the Winter being pretty moist and cold. Though the did have an early Spring with the associated normal Great Plains Spring Flood from snow melt. Actual!y, if I recall correctly there were a few years there where the Mississippi had topped the levees flooding the region all the way down to Tennessee back through the Dakotas. ( Edit: Actually that was the 1993 flood, the 1983 flooding was for the lower Mississippi from Tennessee through Louisiana. https://en.m.wikiped...pi_River_floods )
Accuweather says 10/27 and 12/27 and both sunny respectively but when it's in the BoM forecast I'll report back, Accuweather is obviously extremely inaccurate.
I can't believe it will be cooler than Orlando and similar to Savannah.
