I'm still waiting for this 'historic' blizzard to make an appearance. So far, it's a dud. It's snowing lightly but that's it. We got maybe 5 inches of snow so far.
Was just in back yard shoveling paths. 1:00am. Sweatshirt and hoodie and gloves. Feels like 6°F with wind. Not even the sound of a plow anywhere. Love it.
Nei is about to get some heavier snows.
1:35am Radar and temps. Visibility 1/4 mile or less under that Heavy Band stretching from Worcester to Long Island. HEAVY snow rates under there. Hartford about to get hit within the hour.
A look at this Blizzards Wind Gusts 2:30am Jan 27, 2015. Nantucket still reporting wind gusts to 70mph
That purple band is right on top of me. Wind gusts probably 40-50mph. Snow looks incredible. About 10 inches so far with 2 foot drifts in my front yard.
This is from NWS:

I'm watching these poor TV reporters freeze their butts off during their live spots on CNN and TWC. So I have a couple of silly questions...
- Are TV vans "essential vehicles"?
- Where are these reporters and TV crews getting their coffee if everything is closed?
- For that matter, if you're already in a hotel booked through tonight and the staff (cooks, housekeeping, front desk, etc.) can't get into work, do you live out of the minibar? I've never been in this situation and wonder how that works. It's not like a hurricane where you'd be evacuated.
Even the snowstorm approached to Raleigh few hours ago, but no love for Fayetteville :/
I've always been yearned about New England region and that one of the reason, it's happening right now.
Hope you guys enjoy as much as while you can have them.
7am Traffic Cams from I-95 in CT. Greenwich, Darien, Fairfield, Bridgeport showing they are still snow covered. Albeit light but slick. Not sure what the ban (if there is one) is right now but I'd let DOT continue cleaning. 18° outside here. Nothing is melting!
