Favourite / Best: Relatively mild-winter Dfc types, adjacent Dfb types

Least Favourite / Worst: Any extremely hot, dry and sunny climate

Favorite: subtropical highland Cfb, Cwb

Moist, humid but not hot and humid. Green, lush. Thunderstorms. Mild year-round. Water plays a prominent role.

Least favorite: hot desert BWh, BWk

Too hot, too dry, not suitable for natural human life, water concerns, ugly landscapes, dangerous fauna

S: Aw/As with summers below 28C, BSn
A: Csb/Cwb/Cfb with winters above 10C, Af/Am with summers below 28, BWn, Csa with winters above 10C and summers below 28C
B: Csb/Cwb/Cfb with winters below 10C, Cfa/Cwa with winters above 10C and summers below 28C, Csa with either winters below 10C or summers above 28C but not both
C: Csc/Cwc/Cfc, Dfb/Dwb with winters above -10C, Cfa/Cwa with winters below 10C and summers below 28C, Csa with winters below 10C and summers above 28C, ET with winters above freezing, BSk/BWk with winters above -10C, Aw/As with average high between 28C and 35C
D: Dsb, Dsa/Dwa/Dfa with summers below 28C, Dfb/Dwb with winters below -10C, Cfa/Cwa with summers above 28C, Af/Am with average high between 28C and 35C
E: Dsc/Dwc/Dfc, BSk with winters below -10C, BWk with winters above -10C, BSh/BWh with average high in summer above 35C but average low in summer below 28C and daily mean below 35C, Aw/As with average high above 35C

Neither is ideal but if I were to pick between extreme heat and extreme cold, I choose extreme heat.

Edinburgh isn't subarctic, it's oceanic
