I think we're seeing that situation around here recently and worried into Fall as well. Need a drought here asap.

Too close for my comfort.

Here's GFS for same time frame. I think it's about the timing of the cold front. NAM is slower so has muggy 60s hanging around bit longer overnight. GFS pushes it a bit faster

Come on GFS! lol

That Seattle heat though! It was hotter in Seattle than it was in Las Vegas today, or at least it was in the afternoon! It's been hot(properly hot) up there for quite some time. And people say it isn't warm and sunny in Seattle, well this summer is making up for that little belief and some!

I've heard that summer 2009 was a rather hot summer for them, too. It was a relatively cool one for us. I wouldn't say that's been the case here so far, unfortunately. (Seems about average.) But I think areas north have had a cooler summer. (Why couldn't it be us, too?! )

Of course, we all know what happened next, or at least I do. Winter 2009-10. Snowiest ever here. I'd love a repeat of that.

It reached 98F today with a heat index of 108F. The highest so far this year.

NWS is showing a slight cool down to the mid 90's for Tuesday and Wednesday before warming up to the upper 90's again late in the week.

One wonders... I wonder... if the calm winds are because of the blocking we have in the North Atlantic.

I wonder if its related being that the atmosphere is blocked from moving too fast so things are slower in the Northeast and calmer in a sense

Maybe I'll do a little wind and NAO comparison tomm.
