Btw, Amherst's annual mean is 4.55°F (2.52°C) colder than Bridgeport; difference is almost in the minimums. We're about 80 miles apart. The difference between London Heathrow and Castlederg is 2.25°C.

Whoa, now there's a day range for you. Not sure about the fog. Maybe very localized or they got the airplane exhaust confused. LOL!

Interesting.. Do Danbury and Bridgeport.

Todays Min temps

Check out Danbury, Pine Barrens Long Island and Marthas Vineyard always separate from the known climate of the area they are in (NYC metro/island surrounded by water)

Euro snow totals through next weekend. 6"+ for northern tip of Maine? Makes sense. With a storm coming in and cold air filtering in.. Adirondacks high peaks first snows.

Quite the opposite farther east. I didn't get below 60 F this morning, but the expected high this afternoon is only 70 F.

I was wondering if you'd beat me to getting below 50 F this season. Congrats, you did

I'm guessing it's supposed to be overcast in your area today. Here, the sky is mostly clear with just some cirrus clouds.

Exciting! Early Season Snows.. (most likely be for Northern Maine) and the Adirondacks and White mountain peaks some too..

http://forecast.weather.gov/product.......&glossary=0

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CARIBOU ME
915 AM EDT SUN OCT 11 2015

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...
A TREND TOWARD COLDER WEATHER EXPECTED DURING THE LONG TERM AS AN
UPPER TROUGH GETS CARVED OUT ACROSS THE NORTHEAST U.S. BY LATE IN THE
WEEK AS THE UPPER PATTERN BECOMES MORE AMPLIFIED ACROSS THE
CONUS. A SERIES OF FRONTS AND SHORTWAVES WILL CROSS THE AREA WITH
THE CHANCE OF A FEW SHOWERS. THE AIR MASS WILL LIKELY TURN COLD
ENOUGH THAT ANY SHOWERS THAT FALL COULD FALL IN THE FORM OF RAIN
OR SNOW ACROSS THE FAR NORTH BY LATE WED NIGHT.

ATTENTION TURNS TO A POSSIBLE COASTAL LOW THIS WEEKEND THAT HAS
THE POTENTIAL OF PRODUCING AN EARLY SEASON SNOW EVENT ACROSS
PARTS OF THE REGION ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE NORTHERN PORTION OF THE CWA.
LOW PRESSURE MAY DEVELOP ALONG THE NEW ENGLAND COAST SATURDAY MORNING
AND TRACK NORTHEAST INTO THE MARITIMES.

THERE IS STILL SIGNIFICANT MODEL AND ENSEMBLE SPREAD AND WITH IT BEING NEARLY A WEEK OUT THE DETAILS REMAIN UNCERTAIN...BUT IT CERTAINLY BEARS WATCHING. THE
LATEST 00Z GFS HAS A WEAKER/FLATTER SYSTEM PASSING SOUTH OF THE
AREA. THE 00Z ECMWF HAS A MUCH STRONGER LOW, BUT IS FURTHER NORTH
TRACKING THE LOW ACROSS DOWNEAST MAINE. IN ANY EVENT, THERE IS
HIGH CONFIDENCE ON A COLDER THAN NORMAL PATTERN TAKING HOLD LATE
IN THE WEEK AND CONTINUING AT LEAST INTO EARLY THE FOLLOWING
WEEK. THE LATEST CPC 6-10 DAY OUTLOOK AND CFSV2 CONTINUE TO
ADVERTISE COLD ANOMALIES ACROSS NEW ENGLAND.

Edit................ AWESOME...........

Looks like snow to me on the latest GFS for Caribou Sunday morning next week. Last year 1st 1" snow was Nov 2nd.

This has been a very average month so far, we are at 17.7C/9.5C with 1/3 the rainfall for the month and 45% of the monthly sunshine a third of the way through October. Those average temperatures will obviously get lower as the month progresses. For some reason, people seem to be thinking that we are having unusually warm weather though, I guess it's been pretty sunny and people forget that 17C-20C in the sun at this time of year can still feel pleasant.

It dropped all the way down to 34 F/1 C this morning. Not sure if there was a frost though. Up to 64 F/18 C now. Gorgeous day.

No doubts, I just wasn't sure of the source. Impressive cold wave there. Any signs of it abating?
