I suppose it's rather fitting for such a warm winter to go above 70 on its last day.
It looks as though this will be our 11th warmest winter on record and the 2nd warmest since 1960.

Warmest winter on record here, I was a bit surprised by that stat, but it shows just how anomalous December's warmth was, since January and February, while warmer than normal, weren't anything spectacular.

London and Paris are still too cold. Barca, Nice, Palermo, Valencia, Frosinone, etc would be perfect

That blob gave us single digits for the third year in a row. And the water is still above average there. When is the cold PDO coming back, or as I asked before will that have been the shortest cold PDO in history?

Next winter looks much more promising for the East. Did you see what Bastardi is calling for? Whoa! +3F warmth for the East next winter with La Nina. Oh, and a hot summer almost on par with 2010 for this summer 2016.

We shall see. All I want to see is nothing but deep blue anomalies in water temps off the PNW coast for once. Then I will believe a +3F anomaly for next winter.

I have to say it is quite unusual to see Bastardi for once after these past three or four years actually calling for a very mild winter for the East.
