I'm a person that likes cold weather. Alaska has always been one of my favorite in terms of weather, but it's mostly comprised of small, rural towns, half of them don't even have road access.

It could lead to more attractions there, leading more people to move into the state. Being in isolated rural places can lead to feelings of loneliness. If some people have to fly in and out of town all the time, that would be more inconvenient than just driving there.

Alaska is also one of few states that have lack of a major metropolis.

One of the draws to Alaska is the fact that it IS isolated and wild. I don't think people live in Alaska to live an urban lifestyle.
