UK to be wetter and snowy (is not wet and snowy)
Scandinavia to be much more cold and snowy than it is (I thought that Helsinki, Oslo... had at least -15 C daily mean)
Ioannina city to be snowy as the rest of the prefecture of Ioannina.
North Italy to be colder and snowier.
Places in South Switzerland to be colder and snowy (averages of Lugano are mild for Switzerland)
South Bulgaria to be colder (it is not, it is the same as Serres)
Albania to be snowy
Hmmm I can 't remember something else.

It isn't true for most of England or eastern Scotland.

I used to think Boston was much colder than it really was. I remember in late November 2008, I went to visit Boston and I thought that by then the average high was in the 30s. I was very underwhelmed when I saw the averages were something like 47/34 (8/1) for the end of November.

Where in New Mexico do you live? Most of NM is high elevation, not surprising that it gets cold there.

Yes but even in West side I didn t see at stats more than 1500 mm. Yes it is wet but not too much for people react in this way and create this stereotype.

Seattle wasn't nearly as wet as it's made out to be. I moved there from hot dry Eastern WA expecting constant rain as I moved mid-winter.

I kept hearing that winter (2013-14) was the wettest on record FOR SEATTLE, but it never bothered me. The rain was light, kind of misty, and there was always a nice sun break in the afternoon. In the summer it was always sunny (this was the case on several visits as well) and sometimes rained a bit at night. Very few overcast/rainy days in the summer.

I don't know who told you that 13-14 was a bad winter, because it really wasn't. It was rainier than 14-15, but not that rainy. 06-07 was a REALLY rainy year.
