March is much better. March can bring anything- snow, frost, gales, early spring sunshine and dryness. Sometimes all in the same month. November 9 years in 10 is just dull, mild and rainy with no heat or cold, snow if it occurs is confined to the second half. Plus in March there are 12 hours of daylight but only 8-9 in November.

It's close, but November here is a bit more mild.

In this place and for me certainly March is better- a warm part of year is ahead, days are sunny although not warm and nights are cold. November has almost no bonuses compared to March: short, gray days with overcast, low sun angle not anything to miss or wait. As well temperature wise November is boring as the diurnal range is low.

Well, I'm from Cleveland. So here is my perspective;

I feel like early November is better than March because there are still some leaves on the trees and the grass is green. Weather is good although it does rain a lot. However, late November sucks! All the trees are bare. But, most years there is not a good snow so everything is brown, muddy, bare, and dark. I hate the low sun angle and dark evenings. I do remember one year where it snowed on thanksgiving and it was really beautiful. But it almost never happens. March is pretty bad as well. Although it does snow more and the days are much longer. The weather in late March can be really nice. But it's hit and miss. Also, the trees are all bare and nothing starts growing until April. So March is just a muddy month.

Both are not great. But I will give my vote to March for much more sunshine and less rain. Although I think early November is the best. Late November ruins it all.

November feels cooler to me even though the averages are only a slight hair cooler, but that is thanks to our 5 month hot season(even May has average highs around 85.5F/nearly 30C) and heck October is pretty close to May here as well so it can invade in that month too. So November is a nice reminder that cooler weather is in store. March is basically shoved in my face with near 30C day highs spread throughout the month, just taunting me with how long it stays hot here. Heck February the past two years here has been warm too.

March is definitely better if you're looking for dry weather here.

From a winter weather perspective, November is a lot better for western areas of NA. Some of Vancouver's harshest winter stretches have occurred in November (ex. 1985). March is more of a spring month here. Eastern NA is opposite with March being more of a winter month.

Here, November is usually the better month, warmer and drier than March; though as far as daily norms go; November starts warmer than March ends, but finishes cooler than March starts

Here at latitude 58 I would say March because the days are longer, weather is drier, and spring is on the way. Generally colder, however.

I would say March is the better month, purely for psychological reasons. The weather tends to be the same (November is usually warmer) and while I love snow, November marks the start of darkness dominating my life and heralds months more of unpleasant darkness, with snowfall being the only thing to look forward to that time of year (and that depends hugely on the season of course).

While March can be cold, the rapidly increasing day length combined the DST marks a major psychological shift where I start seeing more light than darkness in my life with months more of daylight to look forward to.
