*sunshine data from nearest station at Mildura, 140km to the east, 1 day missing.

Overall a mixed bag. The month offered just about everything: heat, sunshine, some unusually cold nights and thunder/lightning. There was even windblown dust and smoke haze with a strong cold front last week. Yesterday saw wind gusts up to 90km/h associated with high based thunderstorms.

I also started taking data from my place, here at the houseboat moorings which sits on a large inlet of the river and surrounded by wetlands. Data only started halfway through the month, and have recorded 3 lows over 20C. Early comparisons with the official airport station suggest warmer lows by 2-4C and cooler highs by 1-2C.

Possibly the worst month I have personally experienced. A toxic combination of excessive mildness, high rainfall and low sunshine - probably our dullest November ever.

Only redeeming aspect was a light snowfall the weekend before last.

Warmest November on record since 1892, exceeding the old record warmest by 1.9 F. Disgusting.

November 2015 in Bingley, West Yorkshire

Absolute high: 18.2C
Average high: 10.2C (+1.9C)
Mean: 7.9C (+2.2C)
Average low: 5.7C (+2.5C)
Absolute low: -1.7C
Rainfall: 226.6 mm (+115%)
Sunshine: 39.0 hours (-38%)

The 1st was a little bit surreal - not only was it two degrees warmer than any other November day ever recorded, but after the fog cleared at about 9 am it was 100% clear blue skies with no wind. Those days are rare enough at this time of year, but usually almost every November day above about 14C is overcast/raining with strong SW winds, so it felt like a really odd spring day with the sun angle all wrong.

Other than that, except for the money saved on heating and a very brief snowfall this month had no redeeming features at all to be honest, largely just one bout of wind and rain after another.

November 2015 at London Heathrow:

Average max: 13.3C
Average min: 8.7C
Rainfall: 48mm
Sunshine: 28 hours

Absolute max: 17.5C
Absolute min: -1.3C
Highest min: 14.2C
Lowest high: 6.2C

Number of nights >10C: 14

Overall a very dull month, record dull in fact with just 28 hours which is truly abysmal. However it was also possibly the mildest November on record by mean temperature thanks to the very mild nights, but not sure. Would have been great if it had been sunny!

If it'd been very sunny, it would've been very cold too.

I'm not sure, it wouldn't have been as mild for sure, but February 2008 had over 100 hours sunshine and was 2C milder than average. Likewise November 2006 and quite a few others have been relatively sunny whilst also +1C above average
