A more interesting look at something...

Typically a Greenland Block(Warm High Pressure) is more South-North orientated towards Greenland which would allow a trough of cold air to dig into Northeastern U.S.. Take a look at what's going to happen this weekend into next week!

The block is more West-East! In fact will poke into the Arctic and get warm and above normal in the Arctic. (Get ready for melting Ice headlines)

But because of the West-East orientation over Greenland, the trough in SouthEast Canada is not coming down into Northeast U.S. See it? It's more angled Eastward. So as the trough enters the West coast, the weak Southeast Ridge has room to pop north into the Northeast U.S and keep us warm.

Play the loop to see what happens with that Greenland block.

Looks like another Upper Low south of Alaska making its rounds and will affect California and Western U.S so another Jet Stream buckle in about 7 days again in the West.. Good news for warm lovers in the East and Severe lovers in the plains, south and TN Valley

^^

Pretty decent pattern for my region. No major heat yet, but more mild spring like temps than cool temps over the next 10+ days

Pouring outside, thank god, its been so hot and dry and many hot days in the forecast I was worried we were barreling straight to a drought. Supposed to rain an inch and they put a flood advisory out, for an inch of rain only, thats how dry it has been, soils is hard so doesn't absorb water easily so floods easier.

Wish public pools opened earlier down south. Instead of on memorial day and close on labor day. For Raleigh I think pools should open on April 20th and close on October 20th.

Whats hilarious is the neighbors opened their pool on a cloudy day AFTER 9 straight days of sun. LOL! Could of used the sun to at least start warming the water up a little.

Scattered storms around.. Hope Nei isn't on his bike!

80s for nei. 80s without shade! Looks like 80s beat the leaf out day.
Not here yet.. Only 70s which is torching for April!

Wish I was on Long Island!

Dewpoints and Surface winds.

I personally can feel 50s dewpoints as muggy, especially in April. Almost feels Oppressive outside. maybe because I'm not used to it yet or because my body feels it more. Either way, it's not the bone dry weather we had days ago! I want that NW flow back with warmth is fine.

Yeah same here. Went for a run yesterday, it was 65F with a dp of 48F and I was sweating like a b*tch. Couldn't stand it. I can feel a pronounced difference than with a dp of 30F, for instance. Not looking forward to summer, or to moving to TX.

Lol, guess they wanted temps not sun. Its pool weather down here, yet I got to wait till memorial day for pools to open. Wtf.
