An event of this caliber was long overdue, we haven't had long duration severe storms in ages. Crossing NYC later is gonna be hell for me though.

Today was/is very Florida-like here as well. Steamy upper 90's followed by darkness and training storms.

Not ending fast in NYC. Lots more rain to go too. Heaviest stuff may let up.

Lightning hit a house in Freeport.

notice temps dropped into the 70s. Must of been a 20+ degree drop within 30 minutes in many areas today

Just overcast here. Gonna be fun seeing rain totals tomorrow.

We're overdue for a good storm here too, we've been bypassed like 900 times over the last week, but nothing here.

The next month I have to look forward to is September, which is on average our wettest month of the year. I hate August, the hottest and driest month on average during summer, and the dew points aren't any lower than July. So basically just pointless heat and humidity.

Some areas sure are getting it today. Lucky.. Otherwise they would of went another 4 days without rain.

Friday and maybe Saturday more rains coming.

Get ready to say

"enough with the rains". Hahaha. Maybe not this soon yet.

Dry spells and Droughts, so overrated.

July is the driest summer month, actually.

Oh, oops. It is. For some reason I thought I saw somewhere that August was.

Still, August is a rather exhausting month here. Heat and humidity gets old in August.

Instead of functioning as late summer, the average temperature becomes higher still in August, so I can see why it's annoying.

Yep. And we don't even see that seasonal delay in winter, so here it feels like summer drags, but winter ends abruptly around mid/late February.

And since I guess we're low latitude, the sun angle increase in February feels a lot greater than the decrease in August, even though it's the same. The sun isn't noticeably lower from June/July until mid September.

Gotta run now.

One storm developed in northern burbs of Philly out of nowhere and became warned right away...will miss downtown.

NYC getting flooding reports now. Still and will continue raining there.
