A few photos from earlier today. The weather was overcast and cold crap at the time, 7c. The first photos were taken in Richmond, then walked along the river into Twickenham and made a quick trip to Eel Pie Island.

Looks like a United 747 coming into land. Richmond Bridge on the left.
Reminded me of the style of houses seen in parts of Washington DC.
Riverside path leaving Richmond.
Richmond Hill
Daffodils blooming in Marble Hill Park.
Marble Hill House
Flax
Twickenham, close to the riverside.
Some plant flowering, any idea what it is?
Looking back downstream towards Richmond, with Eel Pie Island to the right.
A CIDP
Looks like an acacia, not sure what it is though?
On the bridge to Eel Pie, looking back towards the Twickenham bank.
There is only one path on the island, with a few houses and a rowing club branching off.
Lol, wrong on all counts.
The Loveshack
A goose dressed for the Day of the Dead celebration!
A side street full of pubs and restaurants. Often full of rugby fans when games are on at Twickenham.
Dead trees, looks cold and bleak. When I think of Italy I imagine the pics from Rimini a few weeks ago.
It was actually 13c, but yeah, sometimes we have clouds too ! I believe within a month or two it will look quite different. Dead trees are normal here, our winters are colder than yours anyway. This climate is no way mediterranean. Rimini is a bit milder because it is a coastal location.
Sun melting snow on the road today, not very far from the residential area where I live.
Temperature ca 4°C, sunny, few clouds. All main roads are bare.
Was skiing today up in the hills, perfect snow and sunny, sooo nice - but I will not tire you with another picture of that.

The centre of Twickenham.
Trees look sturdy and thick trunked there. Lots of green around.
What is that green tree in the bachyatd at Patten Alley? Looks nice.

Most of the large broadleaf evergreens are holm oaks I believe. Most of the smaller broadleafs are laurel.
I'm not sure what that tree is, it looks the same as the one in the photo after the CIDP. The leaves were feathery, like a true acacia (most of the trees people refer to as acacias here are actually black or honey locusts).
I've also identified the aircraft as UA930, from SFO to LHR.

Cool photos, The flax is a yucca. Mystery tree two looks like a acacia -should be flowering soon, and are normally surrounded by saplings, unless controlled.
