Do you live in western Sydney?

Whilst the days are 19C, the nights are around 5C (despite the warm days this month, we're still getting cold nights). So the daily mean would be around 12C. Kinda cold, yes.

Maybe these 4 season lovers in the Southern Hemisphere can move to the Midwest or Southern Canada to be happy and every single person who has ever complained about winter snow/cold in the Northern Hemisphere can go start a colony in the Southern Hemisphere where they won't have to deal with frigid conditions. It's best for everyone

Why is Puerto Montt so much colder than that place south of it on the Chilean coast about 50S? Some kind of misreading?

Still looks pretty mild overall in Southern South America. Winnipeg at the end of November regularly sees -20C.
You guys really are lucky in the winter IMO

Hm,there are the Isla los Evangelistas, its a bug.

Also, you really want compare with Winnipeg?

Also some places like Balmaceda,Coyhaique,Sarmiento in Central Patagonia can get temps below -20/-30C ,but is rare, thoses temperatures are restrict to extreme cold events like 2002/2007/2010 etc.

Our cold places are clumped in a small pocket.

This is southeastern NSW (and ACT) right now (highlands have these lows temps):

Tasmania is shivering right now:

Snow depth chart for Australia: Snow Depths Calculator • Snowy Hydro

I have no idea if their measuring practices are the same or not as in other countries but it gives a good idea of the amount of snow that falls near the ski fields. For instance, comparing a bad recent year (2006) with a good recent year (2012):

Heavy rain and thunder forecast for here tomorrow morning with a high of 17C .Still in the low 20s C up north.

Up to 50cm of snow for the major alpine passes tomorrow (700m- 900m) and sea level snow forecast for next week -ski season seems a bit closer now.

Esperanza Station in Antarctica recorded 17.2ºC this morning, becoming the second highest temperature ever recorded there (highest ever was 17.5ºC, recorded last year; records began in the late 40s).

Absolutely ridiculous event, considering it's already late May. It was about to become the absolute highest!! Let's see what happens the next few hours. Marambio Station also recorded a few +10ºC highs lately. It's due to the same air pattern that has prevented Buenos Aires to get a single reading of 20ºC during the whole May (for the third time ever) and Ushuaia from having a single snowfall, by keeping high pressure systems in Southern Patagonia.
