I haven't, and tbh it's never been a place of interest for me. I'd be willing to visit almost anywhere once though.
Leeds has one of the largest West Indian populations in the UK, so it's not hard to find somewhere selling West Indian cuisine.
True, it's good to see everywhere once. I would be excited to go to Jamaica but only once street crime goes down. I love exploring foreign cities on foot so I can't really go anywhere where you can get shot just for walking around, and sadly that's the reality now in a lot of Central America and the Caribbean
Never knew that, in the US I'm pretty sure most West Indians live in NYC or Florida. In Queens/Brooklyn a lot of people have West Indian roots
Yeah, that's the biggest thing that would stop me from going there - crime is still really high. Central America is pretty scary. Places like Brazil have improved but Honduras etc are as bad as ever.

Ive been to Honduras before, but yeah its intense. I know its popular in the US to paint everything south of the Rio Grande with one brush, but you just need to spend a week in Chile/Peru and then a week in Honduras and you'll see that safetywise they're on different planets. People in Chile are afraid of pickpockets, people in Peru are afraid of muggers, people in Central America are afraid of gangs and rapists and worse

The crime here in Brazil really are less worse than some past years, but still are high here, with a lot of thieves, there are many poor comunities around the cities, fortunately I live on a good region, but in somes, the contrast are great, with rich houses on one street and on another really poor peoples,my city is even good for Brazil standards,Rio de Janeiro outside of its beautiful beaches, are known by it high criminality, with gangs and etc.
I think your guys of North America live on a completely different world, yours may thanks to be born on a such good place like USA.
Ummm your city statistically has some of the highest homicide rates in the country, only Natal, Salvador, and Fortaleza were higher last year. Rio actually statistically is much safer. I think Rio de Janeiro suffers from the Chicago syndrome, they are both very big cities that are very famous and moderately dangerous. Many people here think Chicago is the most dangerous in the country when its not true, its just the most dangerous IMPORTANT city in the country. Its the third biggest city in the US, and Los Angeles and NYC are both very safe by American standards so that just leaves Chicago out to dry. Cities like St. Louis or Natal are much more dangerous than Chicago and Rio, but nobody really cares about St. Louis or Natal so they dont get as much negative press
