No, I'm in Mercer County, and we didn't have any flooding; the large rainfall amounts were north of me. The worst flooding was in Greenbrier, Kanawha, Nicholas, and Webster counties. I have a friend that lives in White Sulfur Springs (Greenbrier Co.), and he said the devastation is unreal. I think there are still about 35,000 people without power.

Too warm year round, a little too dry and not enough snow. C.

I remember driving by Bluefield on I-77 ,
I remember it being the last town before entering a long tunnel
then being in Virginia on the other side,
next major town, Whytheville, Virginia.

It is interesting that the "lows" are much milder in Bluefield
then either Beckley or Whytheville (which is farther south).

Must be exceptionally good cold air drainage, I think a windmill palm could grow there.

I like that it's seasonal but not too extreme but I'm a fan of seasonal climates that are more dry but this isn't too bad. Summers don't look too bad but they could probably feel a bit muggy at times and are a little too wet for me. Winters don't look bad but I'm going to assume that they are fairly dreary and ice storms are fairly normal? Fall looks fantastic though and I'm sure the colors don't hurt either.

A. This is one of the best 4 season climates that I have seen. Winters are mild but get more snow than comparable winter climates. Fall and spring are long and pleasant. Summer is warm but not too hot and cools off at night much more than the mid-atlantic/south. My ideal climate would have more snow in the winter and be sunnier February through November (assuming this has standard WV cloudiness) but this is really close to that.
