Only Continental, Subpolar or Polar climates are "supposed" to be cold and snowy during the winter. It would be the end of the world if we saw snow during the winter (our valley floor has never recorded snow, only graupel)
Not true, "The heaviest snowstorm on record dates to January 21–22, 1937, when 1 to 4 inches (2.5 to 10.2 cm) fell in parts of the city and did not melt entirely for three days. The most recent significant snowfall occurred on December 6, 1998, across the northwest portions of the greater metro area. During the 1998 event, Sky Harbor reported a dusting of snow."

That was 18 years ago, and I've only lived here since 2001, but snow is in essence non existant below 1,500 ft elevation here

You didn't specify what year you moved there and said "never", but yeah, generally you're right. I've been to Arizona multiple times in the fall and winter and it's amazing how much cooler the Nogales area (where I visit) is compared to Phoenix.
Since they are so numerous on this forum, someone should start an opposite poll for four seasons people and coldies: which has a worse winter: L.A, Tampa, or Phoenix?

I'd say out of those, Tampa due to being Zone 9B, while we are Zone 10A, and LA is 10B in the basin, and 10A in the valleys
Nope. It's just these type of threads are boring, uninteresting and predictable. Cold lovers will vote for the mildest city and cold haters will vote for the coldest city. What an insightful and interesting thread this is.
How about a 'best summer weather - Helsinki, Copenhagen or Riga' thread?

More interesting since the choices are all very similar in the summer (this thread not so much, Minneapolis is a solid 15 F colder than Boston and about 7-10 F colder than Chicago, quite clearly a much different climate from either) and a lot of cold lovers aren't necessarily heat haters in the summer. Summer preferences on this forum aren't quite as clear cut as winter preferences IMO.
