Who are you kidding you love this weather and want it to continue all
summer. You hate any warmth at all. This is why you keep flooding this
thread with over the top cold graphics showing 8-14F over my area. Too bad
those temps were 10,000 feet up. I couldn't care less how cold it is 10,000
feet up. I care what is going on out my front door. But you knew that map
would exaggerate cold and make it appear as if the entire eastern US was
freezing cold. It also feeds into the Europeans beliefs on here that think
our spring weather is totally unstable etc.

This May isn't going to up end the coldest in 100 years or whatever you hope
happens.

Our largest negative anomaly this month is -9F with yesterday
having 61/43F and the day before with rain 57/47F. Overall the month is currently running barely below average.

Nothing epic at all yet
for early May. No freezes in our agricultural areas either. I asked a farmer
today at Reading Terminal if the Amish farmers got a frost/freeze today out
in Lancaster and he said not at all. A "little chilly" but no damage at all
was his response.

Sure it is below average, but nothing like the -20 to -25F we can get in
winter.

I'm on to you and this game.

Here are the Euro and GFS ensemble runs( you know the ones you ignore cause they aren't as wacky and cold as the deterministic)

.

To be fair to Cambium we started the month with decent positive anomalies while places a bit further west weren't so lucky.

6am temps this morning. NYC is like "what chilly"? What a joke that city is. Just take it off the map. 30s just 20 minutes north of me. 42° here. 50s in NYC

Looking Ahead...

GFS continues to say Warmth comes in on the 17th but then quickly leaves and replaced by cooler air again on 19th.

Euro shows the warmth as well the 17th and it looks like it stays a few days but its at end of its run (10 days)

Canadian00z doesn't have the warmth come in its entire run.

Here's the Euro00z May 18th 850mb temp anomalies

Moral of the story.... we have to wait till after mid month for any warmth in Northeast. Hang in there!

Euro00z for today.
