I have been living for years in the land of the midnight sun, north of the Arctic Circle. I loved the summer light, and had no trouble sleeping. That soft light from the low sun throughout the night is really something special. Nature's nocturnal creatures must accept the light.

Those times would be perfect for me. Zagreb is not too far from it in winter, but the summer sunsets are just too early.
triple dst?

It's like your current location, except 10 degrees further west

These figures are for the 21st of each month. Is there anywhere that comes close?
Times shown are sunrise and sunsets, with solar noon in parentheses.

Earliest and latest solar noon is November and February respectively, no matter the latitude.

Somewhere around the tropic of cancer/capricorn and right on timezone meridian

Rio De Janeiro without DST comes close

Easter Island probably has the worst winter sunrise for a Koppen-tropical climate! Almost 9am in May and August (both ends of DST).

Actually used to be even worse (using year-round DST) with sunrise after 9am in July! Again, in a Koppen-tropical climate!

We've already established that people in the western world don't wake up as early as you do. Also, they get 8:48 sunrises, but they also get 19:55 sunsets. When they get to work, it's going to be bright, and then they'll have daylight for the rest of the day until 8pm. Great really.

That is very similar to Brisbane.

As for the first part, I realised that after I made the post; oh well!

I kind of figured it would be around the Tropic of Cancer/Capricorn. Rio without DST has great sunrise/set times: 05:04 to 18:37 on the summer solstice (21 Dec, which is also my birthday) and 06:33 to 17:16 on the winter solstice (21 Jun).

It would be cool to have my birthday in summer, though.

Brisbane also has good sun times - 04:49 to 18:42 on 21 Dec and 06:37 to 17:02 on 21 Jun. And hey, no DST to deal with there!

Las Vegas, in the Summer . I used to go to work at 9pm (indoors, no windows) and the sun was going down. Then, when I got off at 5a.m., the sun was coming up.
