Plenty of heavy rain 150 miles west of me offshore in 1600ft in the loop current doing the deep water grouper no good. As soon as it tries to move east it hits dry air aloft and the colder gulf water temps east of the loop current just makes it go POOF. No chance it will come onshore tonite. The loop current is always much warmer and helps with lift to make strong T- storms.

Sure it can if high pressure locks in long enough. Sinking air heats up due to friction.

Today's high temp was 31.1°C, 6.7°C above average and just 0.6°C short of the standing record of 31.7°C set in 1950. This mornings low was 12.8°C, 1.7°C above average.

Currently 30°C with a dewpoint of -3.3°C at 5pm Mountain Time

Very warm today all across the west.

Vancouver hit 15.8C, a new daily record high. Many readings in the 16-18C range inland.
