Drought conditions have started to move in for a narrow swath, including Indianapolis. Last night there was a nice train of storms just north of us that fizzled out just as it got to our area. A gust front came through, made it really windy for a time, and sparked more storms just south of us. But we sat dry right in the middle. Still chances of storms pretty much every day for the next few days so I'm keeping my hopes up for a good soaking at some point!

Sunny morning! I think we're entering a new pattern here. A drier one. Finally no rain for more than 4 days straight. Precip staying south tomorrow.

No 80s for next 5 days. So far so good.

Heavy rain out in the gulf hit the land shadow and POOF died out within 20 miles of the beach and heavy build ups to my east are moving away toward the east cost. Getting a 30+ mpg down draft so it was a good time to mow the front yard. At least the blow off from the tops have moved my way and are blocking the sun thank God. Going 100 miles offshore tonite and don't expect much action out there while fishing till Sunday.

I looked at past 3 days and looks like there was rainfall around your county each day.. Not sure exactly where you are but here is the precip total from 7am June 6th to 7am June 7th.

Some spots got over 1/2", some over 1".

Stations in Tampa getting some rains.

I am right on the gulf and got rain Wends. I am where the hand is on the coast. Everything builds just east of me in a reverse west windflow and moves away toward the east coast and everything offshore dies out just offshore. I live in the worst area for getting rain in a west flow. Southeast windlfow is when i get 90% of my rain and southeast windfow is very rare in the summer since 1985.

Those places you listed in Tampa are like 28 to 40 miles away from me so not even close. And as i always say local amounts will vary. One place can get 4" and a mile away nothing. I am in west Pasco county.

Abnormally dry conditions have spread across much of Louisiana per the latest drought update.

Will probably get isolated to scattered t-storm activity over the next week with temps around the 92F-94F range. Also the GFS has been showing a potential tropical system in the Gulf - the latest model run shows a Louisiana landfall next weekend; other runs have been further east.
