Saw something from Northern England today, looked dreadful, raining hard, temps around 60. Never complain about a cooler than average summer in a place like Chicago..many would happily take it.

Yeah, it's been a while since we've had an average summer.

The good thing about this is no smoke this year.

It's all what we are accustomed to having.

Meteorological summer to date has been flat for CONUS

I doubt anyone from Northern England would want summer heat/humidity like Chicago lol. No one even has AC there.

Looking at the long term forecast, it looks like milder temps coming later next week. Forecast has been bouncing around on just how much milder but I'll take upper 70's to low 80's. Either way, it shows summer is slowly ending.

Who knows but loads of them travel to subtropical and tropical regions every summer so clearly at least a very substantial part of the population is looking for something warmer and sunnier.
