I have wanted to see such big snowstorms and such snow like people who live in Sapporo or even people who go to skiing a lot.

Winters are known for the high precipitation and snow, And cold and cloudy weather, Springs are still snowy and quite cold, Summers are pleasant and sunny, Autumns are chilly or cold, Snow comes back.

It is a very good climate...the only thing that I would change would be to get rid of the dry summers. Other than that it is an A climate.

What about the 75 °F high in July? There is still a chance of summer

Yes I know but the summer is short and weak and winter is way too cold anyways.

Good precip pattern (would prefer it a bit muted perhaps) but otherwise not for me, a D-. It actually vaguely resembles some interior pacnw climates.

Grade: 69.5% / C-

Pluses include the good yearly precipitation total and epic all-time temperature range, with a good contrast between seasons. Minuses include the excessively long winters with excessive snow (although I'd love to ski here) and the garbage seasonal lag. I would imagine the snow pack is established, on average, in early November and doesn't melt off until late May. This climate squeaks by with the very minimum score required to get a C grade.

(In fact, without rounding the component scores to whole numbers (for instance, the precipitation score got 87.7%, it's rounded to an 88), this climate gets a 69.2551% / D+, and even as is, is at exactly 69.47%, both of which should round down to 69 and a D, but because of the way the grading system is done, the 69.47 spit out a "69.5" which rounds to a 70 / C. So I'm going to call this a C climate, albeit the very worst-end C grade climate. Talk about "squeaking by".

Grade: B

Winter tempeatures are good although I would prefer a bit less cold and less variance. The snow is great. The summer tempeatures aren't bad either expect for the Melbroune-esque record highs which in my opinion are not possible for the averages. The highest you can get is about 36-37'C. Sunshine os quite good too although it can be improved in summer. Overall not a bad climate.

What causes the 110+ F summer month record highs?
