The rasputitsa might come early.
You are correct. Tanks and other heavy military vehicles don't get stuck in mud when the ground is frozen solid. When the ground thaws after a long freeze, anything besides a paved road becomes a nasty mud trap for most tracked or wheeled vehicles.

I hope not, I hate snow, I seriously doubt it will happen though! I haven't even had to scrape early morning ice from my windscreen once this winter, long may it continue.

Here's what GFS says for the next two weeks. I seriously doubt any of this will come to pass except in the mountains of Scotland.

Looks like Putin doesn't care what the weather is.

5th -12th March hardly Spring being delayed!?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2643743

Average March temperature in London in March is 6-12 deg C and that takes into account the warmer late March temperatures! 2 degrees or so below the average right at the start of March is hardly something unusual. It will still be warmer here than Chicago does that mean Spring is delayed there too?

Slightly 'above' average over the next couple of weeks, in fact quite a pleasant couple of weeks coming up.

Just going by what the models are showing... Chicago normal overtakes London by late March or the first few days of April in temperatures (especially high temps). I strongly believe we are going to have a below average March and probably April too. Definitely not ideal by my tastes as I like my Springs warm and sunny with thunderstorms.

I see most pronounced negative deviation in SE Europe.

This is current forecast for Sarajevo until March 6 https://i.ibb.co/RCprDqz/IMG-20220224-223942.jpg
Temperature will fall down to down to -9c on March 1, to -12c on March 2, and -10c on March 6 according to Gismeteo.
